Speech Language Pathologist - Travel Contract

About the role

Join our Speech Language Pathologist team to evaluate and treat patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a skilled nursing facility setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer standardized assessments
• Document outcomes in electronic health records
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings
• Provide consultation to patients, families, and staff
• Evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
• Develop care plans accordingly
• Ensure accurate documentation and recording of treatment minutes
• Supervise Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs
• Provide skilled speech-language services supporting patient safety and communication
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and participate in care reviews
• Deliver discharge summaries and clinical recommendations, adhering to ASHA and state standards

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or equivalent experience, including Level II clinical experience for new graduates
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
• Active Missouri state license or applicable compact licensure
• At least 1 year of clinical experience in long-term care or inpatient rehabilitation
• Ability to evaluate and treat communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders, and develop care plans
• Proficiency in documentation and recording treatment minutes accurately
• Supervision capability for CFY or student SLPs
• BLS certification may be required

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of active CCCs
• Experience managing DME and supplies in compliance with clinical standards

Schedule

• Flexible 8-hour weekdays, with start times between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM
• No weekend work unless on a holiday; hours may be made up
