Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Inpatient Rehab

Role And Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive speech-language pathology services including screening, evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, and discharge planning across various settings.
• Conduct evaluations by reviewing patient history, performing assessments, and documenting results, then communicate findings and involve patients and families in goal setting.
• Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation outcomes, collaborate with healthcare team members, and adjust care plans as needed based on patient condition.
• Complete timely documentation of patient care activities, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring clarity of patient care trajectory.
• Manage time effectively to meet productivity standards, demonstrate flexibility, empathy, and professionalism to ensure seamless patient access to care.
• Engage in continuing education for professional growth, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist in onboarding and mentoring new staff and students.

Qualifications And Skills

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Completion of clinical fellowship year (CFY).
• Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in relevant jurisdictions (MD, DC, VA).
• American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
