Speech Language Pathologist (SLP - CCC)

About the role

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients. Speech Pathologists play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent treatment throughout the recovery process.

Responsibilities

• Takes initiative, responsibility, and action every day
• Understands physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients
• Evaluates communication skills and/or swallowing function
• Provides goal-oriented treatment to enhance communication and/or swallowing potential
• Maintains an adequate supply of supplies
• Shares professional knowledge and experiences
• Monitors the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department
• Participates in peer review for staff performance and appraisals
• Assists in developing the SLP role in programs and services
• Revises departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Certified BLS or completion within the first 90 days of employment

Qualifications

• Desire to work in collaboration with associates
• Experience in providing quality interdisciplinary patient programming

Skills

• Understanding of communication skills and evaluation
• Ability to provide comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans
• Willingness to share professional knowledge and experiences

Pay

$42.00 - 56.00 per hour depending on years of experience
