Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

As a Speech Language Pathologist at CHI St Vincent Health, you will enhance the independence of our patients by assisting them in eating and drinking safely, improving memory or cognitive issues, or communicating their needs and wishes more clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform modified barium swallow studies to determine a patient’s ability to swallow safely
• Conduct cognitive assessments to evaluate a patient’s decision-making abilities, memory, emotional control, and interaction with others
• Document all assessment results and collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to develop a care plan and monitor treatment progress
• Utilize exercises, modalities, and adaptive devices to help patients improve speech, memory, cognition, etc.
• Educate patients and their families on these processes to ensure informed decision-making
• Provide high-quality care to each patient

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Therapy from an accredited college
• Current license to practice as a Speech Therapist in the state of Arkansas
• Previous acute care experience preferred, but not required

Pay

The posted compensation range is $36.42 - $54.17 /hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Schedule

PRN schedule with a weekend call rotation, Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)
