About the role

Responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and helping prevent speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes.

Essential Functions

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior speech pathologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders in patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide therapy to patients with various communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Licenses and Credentials: Speech-language Pathologist State License required; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred; Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience: Speech pathology experience 2-3 years required; Acute hospital experience 2-3 years preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with diagnostic assessments for speech-language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to incorporate new clinical procedures sufficiently to perform clinical services independently.
  • Ability to perform functions associated with contemporary audiology and speech-language pathology scope of practice.
  • Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations.

Pay

$90,084.80 - $119,787.20/Annual, Grade 6.

Schedule

Day shift, 40 hours per week. Onsite at 300 First Avenue.
