About the Role

The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) carries out individualized therapy programs including assessment, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. The Speech Therapist supervises therapy aides and students.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and establish appropriate treatment goals and programs for patients in Acute care, Inpatient Rehab, and/or Outpatient.
  • Coordinate the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services.
  • Develop comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
  • Deliver care and modify the care plan in accordance with the patient’s needs.
  • Serve as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech – Language Pathology
  • American Speech & Hearing Association certification
  • Current Missouri State professional license or license eligible
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be eligible for clinical fellowship
  • One year of work experience or clinical internship is required
  • Prior one year of hospital/health care related experience is preferred
  • Basic computer skills in word processing and internet
