Qualifications
- Valid Arkansas Department of Education teacher license
- Valid license from Arkansas Board of Examiners, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- Certificate of clinical competency
Responsibilities
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Has familiarity with and subsequent compliance with Arkansas rules and regulations and eligibility criteria for Special Education, Speech Language Impairment.
- Develops and implements treatment plans/goals and objectives to assist students with speech disorders, such as delayed language, articulation, voice, and fluency.
- Collects data, documents information, and writes reports with details regarding student billing/insurance, evaluations, progress, treatment, and discharge of students from services.
- Develops school programs or activities for individuals and/or groups to deal with language, behavior, and speech problems.
- Instructs students on how to strengthen the muscles of the face, tongue, and jaw to facilitate improved speech production.
- Attends Special Education conferences and reports student performance to parents and other members of the student's team.
- Affirms student needs and adjusts treatments in accordance with student progression.
- Evaluates language, speech, or hearing test results as well as medical information to diagnose and develop a treatment plan for fluency, language, speech and voice disorders.

Terms of Employment
- The contract length will be 190 days.
Evaluation
- Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the building principal.
Job Goal
The Speech-Language Pathologist will work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, and cognitive communication to children identified as eligible for Special Education services in the school setting.
