About the role

This position is approximately 90% outpatient and 10% inpatient. The ideal candidate will be certified to complete Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSSs). The schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with no weekends or call required. This is a part-time role at 28 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide screening, evaluation, and rehabilitation services for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on physician orders or referrals.
  • Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and limitations to determine appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure treatment plans are supported by standard practices and/or current literature.
  • Re-evaluate treatment plans as needed to ensure maximum patient benefit.
  • Educate patients, families, and care providers to promote participation and attainment of therapeutic goals.
  • Provide individualized home programs with clear instructions.
  • Document patient treatment according to professional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in training other staff and students.
  • Follow the plan of care to accomplish functions within established procedures and scope of practice.
  • Make independent judgments based on specialized knowledge and confer with supervisors on unusual situations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.
  • Current licensure in the state of practice.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or documented acceptance in Clinical Fellowship Year.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and human relation skills.
  • Proficiency with computer software applications commonly used in an automated patient care environment.
  • For Banner Home Care AZ employees: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required at hire and maintained throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional related education and/or experience.

Pay

Estimated pay range: $35.37 - $58.95 per hour. Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency.
