About the Role
This is a part-time, on-site role as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) serving a school located in Alva, Oklahoma. The SLPA will provide therapy services to students, conduct screeners, monitor progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.
Schedule: August 2026 - May 2027, 25-30 hours/week, on-site and in-person.
Responsibilities
- Direct therapy services to PreK-12 students
- Conduct screeners and monitor student progress
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including therapists, educators, and parents
- Consultation and planning with SLP supervisor
- Documentation, administrative, and planning tasks
- Manage caseloads with dual support from the District and TheraPeds
Requirements
- Valid SLPA Certification from an ASHA-approved institution
- State License as Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, where required
- Department of Education Licensure as a SLPA, where required
- Experience working with children
- Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in the use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a high level of tact and discretion
Physical Requirements
Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform necessary physical movement functions, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
