About The Team
This Speech Language Pathologist position involves working across Freire Charter Schools in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware. The role serves students at high schools: Freire High School, TECH Freire Charter School, and Freire Charter School Wilmington. Freire emphasizes Graduation x 2—graduation from high school and college—and provides individualized college counseling to help students achieve these goals.

Responsibilities
As a Speech Language Pathologist, your responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations to identify students' communication, articulation, language, and related needs, and determining eligibility for special education services.
- Providing individual and group therapy to students facing speech, language, and communication challenges.
- Developing and implementing intervention plans tailored to student needs.
- Collaborating with educators, administrators, families, and external partners to create a nurturing and effective learning environment.
- Participating in crisis intervention and providing support during emergencies, ensuring the safety and well-being of the school community.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records in accordance with school policies and state regulations.

Minimum Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Educational Specialist Certificate as a School Speech and Language Pathologist (PK-12) OR valid Delaware Speech/Language Pathologist license, or eligibility to obtain either.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from a CAA-accredited program.
- Prior experience working with urban youth preferred.
- Proficiency in conducting speech and language assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing therapy services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Pay and benefits
This position is available to full-time and part-time candidates. A competitive salary is offered based on experience and qualifications. Benefits eligibility is contingent on hours worked. The benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and additional benefits. Delaware employees are enrolled in Delaware's state pension plan; PA employees may also elect to participate in a 403(b) retirement plan.
