Speech and Language Pathologist (Haywood) (Temporary)
Description Of Work
Considerable knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methods of speech/language pathology as applicable to children birth to three, including speech and language development, articulation, phonology, oral-motor function and pediatric dysphagia.
Working knowledge of augmentative communication options and devices for this population.
Ability to deliver SLP services both in-person and virtually.
Ability to evaluate patient response and progress and to present evaluative reports in case staffings and multi-disciplinary team meetings.
Ability to work effectively with patients, patients’ families, medical personnel, and other CDSA staff members, and to deal tactfully with the public.
Ability to travel throughout a 4-county area as needed (travel rembursement or state vehicle provided).
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required
Considerable knowledge of services, policies and procedures related to area of specialization.
Ability to compile, assimilate and organize printed and electronic information;
Ability to utilize relevant technology (software and systems) to meet organizational needs.
Ability to identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form; ability to adjust language or terminology to meet the needs of the audience; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.
Minimum Education And Experience
Master’s Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology and 2 years of experience as a Speech/Language Pathologist.
Additional Training/Experience
Experience in a multi-disciplinary pediatric setting.
Licensure Or Certification
Licensed to practice as a speech/language pathologist in the state of North Carolina. Employee is responsible for maintaining licensure in good standing.
Additional Licensure or Certification Preferred
Certification of Clinical Competence by the American Speech Language Hearing Association is required.
