This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating the adaptive, communication, motor, cognitive and social-emotional development of children from birth to three years old to determine eligibility for ITP services.
  • Complete developmental assessments.
  • Provide consultation and support to families and other direct-services CDSA staff.
  • Provide treatment services as needed.
  • Manage multiple tasks while adhering to timelines when submitting documentation.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of North Carolina.
  • Prefer bilingual Spanish Speaking.

Pay

Hourly Rate of Pay: $35.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification.

This position is located at 2222 E NC HWY 54 Suite 300, Durham - Durham County, with the Department of Health & Human Services.
