SPED Teacher - Affective Needs
About the role
This position serves as a collaborative member of the Special Education team, responsible for teaching, evaluating, and implementing programming for severe significant needs students utilizing inclusion practices whenever possible. The individual must have a working knowledge of effective behavior techniques and Autism instruction and intervention, consult with Special and Regular Education teams, and perform daily collection and tracking of student academic and behavior data.
Responsibilities
- Utilize technology and integrate its use to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Observe, evaluate, encourage, and provide feedback on student’s performance and development.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences and establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures, maintaining discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school, and applying appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, preparing required reports on students and activities.
Requirements
- Special Education Generalist License - Colorado Department of Education
- Bachelor's Degree
