Affective Needs Autism Teacher (SPED)
About the role
The Middle School Special Education Teacher position supports a standalone autism classroom. The teacher will manage a caseload of approximately 10–13 students, with the district aiming to maintain caseloads closer to 10. Candidates must be comfortable leading and directing 2–3 paraprofessionals while providing specialized instruction and support to students with autism.Responsibilities

Requirements
- Valid state teaching certification (Special Education preferred)
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Minimum 1 year of teaching or classroom experience preferred
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with autism
- Ability to lead and manage a caseload of students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay
- Hourly Rate: $55.00
- Estimated Total Contract Earnings: $74,250
