About the role

The San Juan Unified School District seeks a Special Education Moderate/Severe K-12th grade teacher to join our dedicated team. This position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $126,000 annually, plus additional stipends of $5,000 - $14,000.

Responsibilities

• Teach students with moderate/severe disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Develop and implement lesson plans that address the unique needs of students.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and support staff to provide comprehensive support to students.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by law and district policy.

Requirements / Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
• A valid California Teaching Credential in Special Education.
• Experience working with students with moderate/severe disabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
• Knowledge of current special education best practices.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
• Proficiency in using educational software and tools.
