The San Juan Unified School District is seeking a single individual for the position of Teacher (Elementary / Secondary), Middle School & K-8 Counselor / Teacher Librarian.

About the role

This position is located at Carnegie Middle School and is part of the permanent staff. The salary range for fully credentialed staff is $60,000 - $126,000 annually. External candidates may only be placed on Column 4, while internal candidates can be placed on Column 5. Additional pay includes $5,000 - $14,000 annual stipends for hard-to-staff Special Education positions, $2,000 annual stipends for counselor, social worker, and teacher librarian positions, $3,000 annual stipend for advanced degrees, and $1,000 - $4,500 annual stipends for various extra-curricular activities, and $1,500 - $6,000 annual stipends for various leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and support students in the classroom setting
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies

Requirements

  • Valid California teaching credential
  • Experience working with students in the relevant grade level(s)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and community partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience with special education students
  • Experience with counseling or library services
