Position Description

STEM School Highlands Ranch is seeking a full-time SPED Educational Assistant to provide dedicated one-on-one support to a student. This position is scheduled for up to 40 hours per week throughout the school year. The employee will work collaboratively with teachers, student-support staff, and school leadership to support the student’s academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, compassionate individual support to ensure student safety and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Proactively support the student’s behavior and safety during classroom activities, transitions, and less-structured or unscheduled times, including arrival, dismissal, passing periods, lunch, recess, and other common-area activities.
  • Implement the student’s individualized behavior and safety plans with consistency and fidelity, as directed by the student-support team.
  • Collect and maintain accurate documentation related to behavior, interventions, transitions, and student progress.
  • Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, transitions, and common areas.
  • Collaborate with teachers, student support teams, and administrators.
  • Follow school policies, confidentiality standards, and directions from staff.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support school operations.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to student learning and development.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Responsive and proactive communication with students and faculty.
  • Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced, and collaborative environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.

Schedule

This position will be open until filled, but will not be open past: August 31, 2026. The Pay Range For This Role Is 17.80 - 26 USD per hour (Main).
