Position Description
Defense is looking for a skilled and motivated Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Spectrum Management Office (SMO) within the Office of the Chief Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Ensure consistent, thorough, and integrated management, execution, and products of Flight, Technical, Programmatic, and Cyber risks through the MDA Risk Working Group (MRWG).
- Execute Technical Risk assessments to support MDA Operational Capacity List (OCL) Decisions.
- Provide expert review of evidence related to Technical and Cyber risks presented in System and Element requirements and design reviews.
- Provide support to elements for risk development.
- Support Mission Execution and disposition of Execution Risks and Event Observations in Daily MRWGs.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM
- 7+ years of experience
- Active Secret clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory and electromagnetic principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strict attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Teams
Desired Skills/Experience
- Graduate of a military spectrum management school
- 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management
- Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
- Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI)
- Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook)
- Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, HNSWD-O, JSDR, Integrated Spectrum Desktop)
- Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation
- Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages
- Experience with the JSIR-O portal
- Knowledge of the NTIA EL-CID
- Experience with standard engineering practices
- Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis
