Position Description

Defense is looking for a skilled and motivated Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Spectrum Management Office (SMO) within the Office of the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent, thorough, and integrated management, execution, and products of Flight, Technical, Programmatic, and Cyber risks through the MDA Risk Working Group (MRWG).
  • Execute Technical Risk assessments to support MDA Operational Capacity List (OCL) Decisions.
  • Provide expert review of evidence related to Technical and Cyber risks presented in System and Element requirements and design reviews.
  • Provide support to elements for risk development.
  • Support Mission Execution and disposition of Execution Risks and Event Observations in Daily MRWGs.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Active Secret clearance
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) theory and electromagnetic principles
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strict attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Teams

Desired Skills/Experience

  • Graduate of a military spectrum management school
  • 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management
  • Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance
  • Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI)
  • Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook)
  • Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, HNSWD-O, JSDR, Integrated Spectrum Desktop)
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation
  • Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages
  • Experience with the JSIR-O portal
  • Knowledge of the NTIA EL-CID
  • Experience with standard engineering practices
  • Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis
