Specimen Processor - 2nd Shift

About the role

This onsite Specimen Processing Specialist position performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located at one of our client offices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Communicate effectively with client office staff
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Scrub requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and missing items are updated
• Perform spinning, freezing, splitting, and other special services as needed based on client requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, data entry, manufacturing, or warehouse)
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Strong data entry and organizational skills
• High level of attention to detail
• Experience with MS Office
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience

Schedule

Tuesday – Friday 4:30 pm – 1:00 am and Saturdays 3:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Pay

$17.75 - $19.00 per hour

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
