Specialty Stand Lead - Anaheim Convention Center - Catering
About the role
Responsible for assigned stand and/or portable run efficiently per Aramark standards. This role takes place in an events-based setting, with schedules and hours varying per event. In general, you will most likely work 6 or 10 events a year. You will provide your availability, which will be taken into account for scheduling. This is a union position under Unite Here 11.
Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, new hires start at 80% of the negotiated pay rate. After 20 shifts, the rate increases to 90%, and after 40 shifts (20 at 80%, 20 at 90%), the rate reaches 100% of the negotiated pay rate.
Responsibilities
- Schedule and assign daily work to a food service team and supervise task completion.
- Train and guide staff on job duties, food safety, sanitation, and customer service.
- Prepare and build food items according to standardized recipes and directions.
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures.
- Set up workstations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Break down, clean, and sanitize workstations.
- Serve food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating needs.
- Replenish food items and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Adhere to all alcohol service policies and safe drinking guidelines, including checking IDs.
- Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor toward guests, customers, and co-workers.
- Operate espresso machines and other equipment to prepare specialty coffees and drinks in a fast-paced environment.
- Prepare specialty coffee and other drinks according to recipes and "coding" on beverage vessels.
- Code beverage containers with specialty coffee orders.
- Supervise stand workers, baristas, and cashiers.
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation.
- Ensure security of company assets.
Requirements
- Previous supervisory experience in a related role preferred.
- Previous food service experience required.
- Must be able to obtain food safety certification.
- Exhibit and practice high-level guest satisfaction skills.
- Basic accounting knowledge and experience managing inventory.
- Willingness to accept change, new procedures, and constructive feedback.
- Ability to establish relationships with guests and co-workers.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to improve efficiency.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, meet production/service time schedules, and adapt to changes.
- Consistent professionalism in daily assignments.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Physical Demands
- Lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and/or extended walking and standing.
- May require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Pay
The hourly starting rate for this position is $23.00 (80% of the negotiated pay rate). After 20 shifts, the rate increases to 90%, and after 40 shifts, it reaches 100% of the negotiated pay rate.
