As a Specialty Representative or Senior Specialty Representative, you will connect medical professionals with Amgen’s clinical knowledge, help navigate the payer environment, and implement marketing strategies to promote Amgen products. Responsibilities

  • Provide current and comprehensive knowledge of Amgen’s products and communicate clinical benefits to medical professionals to drive appropriate product utilization.
  • Act as a sales leader to achieve territory sales targets through branded sales messages, planned programs, medical educational initiatives, and both in-person and virtual engagement.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships, customizing interactions based on customer needs, ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Provide feedback on marketing strategy, analyze business effectiveness of sales activities, and develop territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices and continuously grow in the role.
  • Demonstrate passion for Amgen’s products throughout the sales cycle while keeping patient impact central.

Requirements

Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree, or
  • Associate’s degree and 4 years of sales experience, or
  • High school diploma/GED and 6 years of sales experience.

Senior Specialty Representative

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
  • Associate’s degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales), or
  • High school diploma/GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare/scientific field (non-sales).

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology, inflammation, cardiology, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases.
  • Local market knowledge and established relationships in the territory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration (preferred).
  • Adaptability in core competencies: planning and organizing, leveraging business/industry/technical knowledge, communicating with impact, driving for results, and cultivating internal/external relationships.

Pay

Expected annual salary ranges (U.S., excluding Puerto Rico):

  • Specialty Representative: $89,880 – $121,602.
  • Senior Specialty Representative: $109,631 – $148,325.

Actual salary varies based on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
