Specialty Pharmacy Technician
About the role
Responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications to ensure patient care aligns with the pharmacy's philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures. Performs all necessary duties and tasks for the effective daily operations of department services and programs. Handles a high volume of work with minimal direct supervision and performs all job functions.

Requirements
- Competent in medical terminology, medication names and medication use
- Proficient with prescription-filling software and other computer skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to interact professionally with public and other medical staff
- Knowledge of compounding oral/topical medications

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in physical science, business or healthcare related field (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 3+ years pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill or hospital setting (required)
- 5+ years retail pharmacy experience (preferred)
- Previous experience in a managed healthcare organization, medical insurance company, pharmacy benefit management or other healthcare related entity (preferred)
- Prior experience processing and filling prescriptions (preferred)

Pay
$20.38 - $32.60 per hour
Schedule
Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with the possibility for some weekends.
