Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of data-backed product strategies and roadmaps that bolster the company product offering across market segments and align to corporate objectives while creating market differentiation.
- Leverage change management principles applicable to product rollouts, including communication planning, stakeholder alignment, and impact assessments.
- Oversee the product portfolio and develop product roadmaps to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, resource allocation, and return on investment (ROI).
- Serve as a critical point of orchestration, working in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders to inform ideation and validation to launch, refinement, and sunset.
- Ensure timely and high-quality go-to-market execution by facilitating delivery of standard tools and practices for successful adoption and execution.
- Conduct formal and/or informal market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and inform product strategy decisions.
- Stay abreast of and understand industry, marketplace, and legal developments and their impact on the business.
- Translate current and emerging market needs into product expansion, enhancement, and/or new product concepts/business cases.
- Advocate for the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead and/or influence stakeholder feedback sessions and support synthesized insights toward market-informed product initiatives.
- Develop product roadmaps based on the product vision and market research.
- Nurture cross-functional understanding and buy-in to product governance frameworks to ensure process compliance, decision and output quality, and repeatability.
- Partner with individual managers assigned to products, projects, and solutions to ensure resourcing support needed to succeed.
- Demonstrate influence across the product lifecycle and establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Executive Team as an effective developer of strategic planning and execution of strategic solutioning.
- Define, track, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of product strategies.
- Maintain ongoing pulse of functions and communications throughout the organization as a “hub” to successful delivery of key tactics to support the strategy.
- Plan and execute product launches and go to market strategies, including pricing models, bundling, messaging, and positioning strategies.
- Ensure the product is effectively launched in the market and meets the target audience’s needs.
- Develop clear recommendations supported by structured problem solving, financial rationale, and trade off analysis (such as build vs. buy) delivered through executive level presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, healthcare, or closely related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
- MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in product management, strategy, or related field required.
- 5+ years of indirect influence, coaching, mentoring, and/or management experience required.
- 5+ years of experience in health plan, PBM, pharmaceutical, TPA, health tech, healthcare delivery, or health care industry preferred.
- Experience and expertise in new product development, end-to-end product lifecycle management, project management, marketing, sales, and/or strategic planning required.
- Proven track record of tangible success, including leadership and team collaboration/ relationship-building/management in a health care or related environment required.
- Strategy consulting experience (professional services or internal strategy), product development, private equity, banking, corporate finance, corporate strategy, or equivalent experiences preferred.
- Familiarity with digital product development methodologies (Agile, iterative delivery, roadmap planning), even if not a technical product owner, preferred.
- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
