Specialized Travel Counselor - VIP

Responsibilities
- Manage complex, high-touch travel for VIP, entertainment, sports, and production clients
- Book and accurately manage air, hotel, rail, and ground travel, including multi-destination itineraries
- Support production, publicity, and group travel (press junkets, events, non-employee travel)
- Handle specialized requests (upgrades, charters, meet & greet, group seating, excess baggage, logistics)
- Provide proactive, policy-compliant travel recommendations
- Resolve disruptions, escalations, exchanges, waitlists, and complex fare issues
- Coordinate group and event travel, including reconfirmations and vendor liaison
- Maintain accurate records, direct billing, and assist with T&E reconciliation
- Build strong relationships with clients, coordinators, and suppliers
- Safeguard confidential traveler and talent information
Requirements
- 7+ years of customer service experience, including 5+ years in travel counseling
- Background in VIP, entertainment, production, sports, or specialty travel preferred
- Expertise in Sabre / Power Turbo GDS
- Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of global travel and routing
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Commitment to delivering exceptional service experiences
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote team environment
- Flexibility to work weekends and/or evenings (Traveler Care unit is a 24/7 operation)
Schedule
This posting is for hours of Monday-Friday 1pm -10pm CT.
Pay
The US national base salary range for this position is from $46,200.00 to $85,800.00. The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
