Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining strong organizational skills
  • Effectively multi-task and handle multiple situations in a dynamic environment
  • Engage in physical activity with children and maintain visual and physical contact to ensure their safety
  • Assume postures at low levels to interact with children at their eye level
  • Communicate clearly with children and parents in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding)

Requirements

  • Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or meet NAEYC and state Pre-K candidacy requirements
  • Meet state-specific Pre-K guidelines for the role
  • Hold a state of Texas PreK teaching certificate or have a BA degree and be enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program (ACP)
  • Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency
  • Good vision and hearing to ensure children’s safety

Qualifications

Each Teacher of Record must meet one of the following:

  • At least 2 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program, Texas Rising Star program, or Montessori program and hold a CDA
  • At least 8 years of experience teaching in an accredited childcare program or Texas Rising Star program
  • Participation in a coaching program (e.g., Texas School Ready) with at least 150 total hours of coaching and professional development
  • Completion of a formal Early Childhood training program approved by TEA, such as Texas School Ready
