Job Overview
The Specialized Instruction Tutor works with students with disabilities in grades K-5 in small groups of students of six or less, who have been identified as requiring specialized instruction in early literacy and foundational math skills.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Works under the guidance of the Special Education Teacher to provide instruction in literacy and numeracy skills.
- Makes progress monitoring and communicates with the Special Education Teacher and General Education Teacher.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Licensure in Special Education or a related field preferred.
- Ability to relate to children, teachers, and other school staff.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time.
- Erecting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Frequently reports to: *Required Months/Days/Hours: as needed.
