About the role

Estes Forwarding Worldwide (EFW) is a leading domestic and international freight forwarder, providing customized logistics and warehousing solutions for clients around the world and across all industries via air, ground, and ocean freight. The Specialist, Warehouse Dock Fulfilment is responsible for retrieving inventory and packing merchandise for shipment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material/equipment needs.
  • Control and maintain all records required for accurate, on-time completion of shipments.
  • Work in a team environment to accomplish work assignments.
  • Receive inventory and check the merchandise’s quality and accuracy.
  • Efficiently wrap and pack merchandise with packing slip or order details for each shipment, maintaining a quick and steady pace without compromising accuracy.
  • Ensure all merchandise is prepared accurately and ready for shipping on time.
  • Periodically use computers, email, scanners, and the warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory, create paperwork, or document reporting.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Support and promote company core values; regular attendance is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 0-2 years of experience; a combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
  • Attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business documents and write routine business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with peers, communicate basic concepts, and solve practical problems through standardized solutions requiring limited judgment.
  • Good judgment; knows when to escalate issues and when to resolve them independently.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications (e.g., WMS).
  • Ability to type and update computer systems quickly and accurately.
  • Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization.
  • High level of energy, self-motivation, and ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects while setting priorities.
  • Mentally and emotionally capable of handling a high-stress environment.
  • Experience in Freight Forwarding or Transportation industry preferred.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug/alcohol tests, and a criminal history background check.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; EFW will not sponsor new applicants for employment authorization at this time.

Physical Demands

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Capable of individually lifting a minimum of 30 lbs and team lifting a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Often required to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects repeatedly or continuously over time, involving muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
  • Frequently required to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with body, arms, and/or legs.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Required to see details at close range and at a distance.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts in the warehouse.
  • Frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, extreme cold/heat, and occasionally to high/precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
