About the Opportunity

The Specialist, Volunteer Recruitment plays a key role in supporting the volunteer recruitment strategy to attract and engage Leadership Coaches, Professional Mentors, and Mock Interview Volunteers essential for program delivery. This position involves direct outreach, relationship building, and managing volunteer pipelines to ensure a steady flow of candidates applying to volunteer roles. It contributes to the organization's goal of expanding its reach to serve tens of thousands of fellows over the next decade.

Responsibilities

  • Research and post volunteer opportunities across various channels to increase awareness and applications
  • Assist staff in crafting targeted messages to promote volunteer roles within their networks
  • Support the volunteer champions program by interviewing advocates who help recruit others
  • Aid in managing LinkedIn Ads campaigns during recruitment periods
  • Coordinate logistics for volunteer info sessions including scheduling, facilitation, and follow-up
  • Support in-person volunteer recruitment events and related materials
  • Follow up with prospective volunteers via email, text, and phone to encourage application completion
  • Draft and tailor recruitment communications such as presentations, templates, and flyers
  • Manage volunteer communications to address questions and re-engage stalled candidates
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Preferred experience in recruitment, volunteer coordination, community outreach, or marketing
  • Strong written communication skills capable of motivating action
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Relationship-oriented and comfortable engaging with diverse individuals
  • Proficiency with digital tools including Google Workspace and social media; experience with Salesforce, Campaign Monitor, or LinkedIn Ads is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and seek guidance appropriately
