Specialist Tax

Specific Job Summary

The Tax Specialist will report to the Tax Senior Manager and will support the Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) transaction tax function. The Tax Specialist will prepare tax workpapers supporting filing of state and local sales, use and occupancy tax returns. Prepare, review and post journal entries to be recorded and tax payments to be made. Obtain, review, and validate asset data necessary for filing personal property tax returns in various jurisdictions. Establish, prepare, and coordinate property tax payment requests for approved bills and ensure payment is timely, well tracked, and properly documented. Receive, research, and respond to tax related notices, inquiries and correspondences from internal and external clients. Assist in preparation of monthly tax account reconciliations in compliance with MVWP-66 Policy and work with local site teams to obtain necessary reconciliations and information. Run various General Ledger queries from PeopleSoft, including trial balances, P&L, B/S, etc. Collect, organize, and analyze data (in Microsoft excel) for special reports, analytics, cash flow requirements, etc. Perform special projects as requested.

Candidate Profile

• Education: High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent, BS/BA in Accounting preferred
• Experience: Minimum of one year of equivalent work experience, PeopleSoft software experience preferred
