About the role

The System Engineer – Test owns the test process, including concept, design, root cause analysis, and corrective action. This Engineer will become a subject matter expert via collaboration with Design and Systems Engineering and apply their knowledge to create and refine test processes implemented by Testers and Technicians in Operations. When issues arise, this Engineer determines why they occur and implements corrective action to prevent future, similar failures. This position is a 2nd Shift role.

Responsibilities

  • Define, trace and maintain test process requirements
  • Test procedure creation and maintenance
  • Improve test yield through root cause and corrective action
  • Create product-related technical information in support of Operations
  • Ensure overall technical performance for Test Engineering developments
  • Work with Engineering to facilitate the transition of products from design to production
  • Provide input to Engineering to support product life cycle management
  • Project management for Test Engineering development
  • Mentor Engineers with less experience
  • Provide input to organizational vision
  • Provide technical test consultation to internal organizations, contract manufacturers, or customers
  • Represent Test Engineering in technical discussions with outside organizations
  • Evaluate contract manufacturers' capabilities to provide required products or services
  • Participate in product design reviews
  • Support the manufacturing floor to help overcome production issues

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Clearance or ability to obtain clearance
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills

Schedule

9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days (totaling 80 hours) and have every other Friday off. This position is a 2nd Shift role.
