Specialist - Software Engineering

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAS Viya 4 Administrator to manage deploy and optimize SAS Viya environments on modern container platforms. The role involves Kubernetes/OpenShift administration, SAS platform migration automation, performance tuning, and supporting AIML workloads in scalable enterprise environments.

Primary Skills

• Mandatory: Strong expertise in SAS Viya 4x administration on Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms
• Handson experience in SAS 9 to SAS Viya migration
• Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting
• Experience with CICD automation (Jenkins, Git, Ansible or similar)
• Strong knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes architecture and OpenShift orchestration)
• Expertise in security frameworks (IAM, RBAC, SSL authentication/authorization)
• Ability to support AIML workloads in scalable cloud/on-prem environments

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade and administer SAS Viya 4x environments on Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Plan and execute migration from SAS 9 to SAS Viya ensuring minimal downtime
• Manage containerized deployments, namespaces, pods and cluster resources
• Implement and maintain CICD pipelines for automated deployments and updates
• Configure security controls including IAM RBAC, TLS/SSL and secrets management
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues and implement performance tuning strategies
• Ensure high availability, scalability and reliability of SAS platforms
• Support AIML workloads and advanced analytics use cases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Data Engineers, Architects)
• Maintain documentation, runbooks and operational standards
