Specialist: Quality Assurance and Training - Patient Access
Primary Function
Aid in facilitating Quality Assurance efforts, ensuring accuracy in Front End Revenue Cycle. This includes reviewing and improving front end billing edits, denials, zero accounts, and other relevant revenue opportunities. Coordinate strategy and process implementations, create payor update guides, and develop training manuals. Train new and existing registrars on front end denial and edit findings, identify ongoing issues, and propose solutions. Provide statistical data to management and present training programs.
Provide office support for computer applications, office procedures, and protocols. Generate detailed statistics to pinpoint areas needing improvement, track denial occurrences, and implement corrective measures to prevent future issues. Collaborate with internal and external clients.
Education/Training/Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in Patient Access and/or Patient Accounting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with Patient Registration, third party billing, precertification, and insurance verification
- Working knowledge of registration and billing regulatory requirements, including EMTALA
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent PC literacy skills
- Epic and Cerner experience strongly preferred
