The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Community Paediatric Physiotherapist to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde on a 12-month fixed-term, part-time basis (0.4 WTE) within the North East Glasgow City HSCP. You will become part of a forward-thinking and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, child-centred care. In this role, you will provide advanced assessment and intervention for children and young people with complex needs, helping them achieve their full potential. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Part-Time, Fixed-Term
Base Location: Bridgeton Child Development Centre
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialised assessment, treatment and management for children and young people with complex developmental, neurological and physical conditions
  • Manage and prioritise a clinical caseload, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across community settings, including clinics, homes and schools
  • Provide education, advice and support to families, carers, schools and other professionals
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Supervise and support junior staff, students, and support workers to maintain high standards of care
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and actively participate in audit, evaluation and clinical governance activities

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy with current HCPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant post-registration experience working with children and young people in a paediatric setting
  • Working towards a Master's level postgraduate study and ongoing professional development
  • Advanced knowledge of paediatric conditions, child development, anatomy, physiology and evidence-based interventions
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing clinical priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Full driving licence with access to a car and digital literacy for record keeping and service delivery
