About the role

The NHS Tayside is seeking an innovative Pharmacy Technician to lead, develop, and manage the expanding General Practice Pharmacy Technician and pharmacy support staff team in Perth & Kinross. This role involves working alongside clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy support staff in various settings such as GP practices, care homes, community hospitals, and patients' homes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational development to meet patient needs in designated areas (Perth City & North Perthshire)
  • Ensure delivery of an accurate, efficient, and high-quality General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Service
  • Participate in audits and implement national, regional, and departmental recommendations
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures for efficient service
  • Oversee staffing recruitment, skill mix, and capacity planning to maintain optimal levels
  • Identify staff development needs, ensure competency, and provide work-based training
  • Avoid non-compliance with Human Resources procedures & policies

Requirements

  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council of Great Britain (GPhC)
  • Experience of primary care is desirable

  • Experience in delivering training sessions to a variety of staff groups

Pay

Fixed-term/Secondment for 12 months

Schedule

Hours of work are: 36 hours over 7 days. Part-time applicants will be considered (minimum 27.5 hours over 4 days).
