Description
The Inventory Exceptions Specialist will handle customer delivery exceptions with a focus on accuracy, ensuring inventory discrepancies are resolved before and after delivery to maintain a positive customer experience. This role involves coordinating with 3PL delivery providers, managing returns and exchanges, and cross-functionally addressing variances to enhance customer account and inventory accuracy.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Daily review and resolve all reported orders and inventory exceptions related to customer orders, including OS&D processing and delivery exceptions.
- Accurately process returns, exchanges, and exceptions resulting in return inventory, ensuring a smooth reverse logistics flow.
- Assist with quality and product status changes as needed, mitigating negative impacts and communicating effectively.
- Contribute to logistics help request tickets from internal and external business partners, prioritizing customer sales orders.
- Support internal business teams on a scheduled and as-needed basis, contributing to task or project goals.
- Continuously improve processes within the role and cross-functionally, focusing on accuracy and efficiency improvements.
- Understand and manage ERP, WMS, and other logistics systems to monitor and move inventory, considering customer order impacts.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures, serving as a role model associate.
Requirements
- High school diploma; college degree preferred.
- Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead discussions with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams) and inventory management tools.
- 1 year minimum of inventory control experience, including cycle counting, WMS, ERP System experience, sales order exception auditing, and processing.
- Understanding of logistics and warehousing work practices, including order processing, picking, shipping, and delivery/return processes and procedures.
- Dedicated to business needs and flexible with work hours if necessary.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Experience in public company environments and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., SOX).
- Ability to manage time and tasks individually and as a team, fostering respectful and effective working relationships.
