About the role
Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and is responsible for receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and coordinates the proper use of reports and system applications, impacting front end and pharmacy on-hand balances and pricing.
- Executes and maintains front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, and files claims for merchandise received but not billed, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
- Opens and closes stores in the absence of store management, including systems start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring floors and stock rooms are ready for the business day.
- Greeting and assisting customers, resolving issues, and providing a positive customer experience.
- Executing and coaching team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
- Scanning in deliveries, focusing on One Box receiving, and taking appropriate actions for marked received products, contacting vendors for past undelivered receipts, and opening tickets for inaccurate orders.
- Verifying all pharmacy shipments and completing or verifying postings of orders, ABC prescription and OTC orders, secondary vendor orders, flu and dropship orders, performing tote audits, and accurately reporting shortages or damaged products.
- Completing On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end process, executing disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns before expiration, and completing scan outs/scan outs returns on all subscribed departments including vendor/DSD departments and pharmacy scan outs.
- Completing pharmacy inventory activities such as pharmacy recalls following Pharmacy Hazardous Waste Policy, vendor returns, non-controlled, and damaged salvage returns, facilitating excess inventory returns or interstore pharmacy transfers where applicable for non-returnable ABC overstock, and verifying posting of all pharmacy/prescription claims.
- Completing execution of all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and markdown deletions, and maintaining accurate department pricing, including daily price changes, accurate signage, and timely completion of regulatory pricing tasks.
- Supporting front end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items, monitoring pharmacy manual orders, maintaining consigned inventory, and updating designated pull & quarantine item on-hands.
- Maintaining accurate inventory counts, updating on-hand quantities, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing files, and retaining necessary invoices/receipts/return authorizations for inventory activities.
- Preparing for and supporting physical inventory days, including preparing sales floor, stockroom, and pharmacy for inventory and auditing the third-party team on the day of inventory.
- Ensuring counters and shelves are clean and well merchandised.
- Knowledgeable of all store systems and equipment.
- Assisting and coaching store team on all package delivery activities, including scanning in/out of packages, completing daily inventory functions, and supporting the Pickup Program.
- Registering all related sales on assigned point-of-sale system, including scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids, and completing product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to safe, and providing change as requested.
Qualifications
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate preferred.
