About the Role

Responsible for executing, monitoring, and training inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including both front end and pharmacy. Supports pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns. Champions On-Shelf Availability and ensures accurate planograms, pricing, and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and monitor front-end and pharmacy inventory processes, including receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and asset protection.
  • Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms and on-hand inventory balances.
  • Review and coordinate the use of reports and system applications impacting inventory accuracy and pricing.
  • File claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods, including prescription drugs.
  • In designated stores, open and close the store in the absence of management, handling cash, systems start-ups, and ensuring store readiness.
  • Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Execute and coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including order creation, review, and receiving.
  • Scan all deliveries while the vendor is present, focusing on One Box receiving and addressing undelivered or inaccurate orders.
  • Under pharmacist supervision, verify pharmacy shipments, complete postings for orders, perform tote audits, and report shortages or damaged products.
  • Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) processes, including disposals, call-ins, vendor returns, and scan outs for all subscribed departments.
  • Under pharmacist supervision, handle pharmacy inventory activities such as recalls, vendor returns, and excess inventory transfers.
  • Execute pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and regulatory pricing tasks.
  • Support front-end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders, and maintain consigned inventory.
  • Ensure pull & quarantine items are updated and placed in designated areas.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts for all departments, including stockroom and overstock locations.
  • Under pharmacist supervision, maintain accurate pharmacy inventory counts and complete smart counts.
  • Ensure inventory compliance with state and local laws for regulated products (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records, organizing files, and retaining invoices/receipts for all inventory activities.
  • Prepare for and support physical inventory activities, including auditing third-party teams.
  • Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves.
  • Assist and coach store teams on package delivery activities, including scanning, inventory functions, and returns.
  • In designated stores, handle point-of-sale (POS) responsibilities, including sales registration, returns, refunds, and cash handling.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, maintaining respectful coworker relationships.
  • Complete additional assigned tasks and activities.

Qualifications

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.

  • Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members, coaching and developing inventory system capabilities.
  • When serving as the leader on duty, communicate assigned tasks and report disciplinary issues or customer complaints to management.

Pay

Salary Range: $18 - $21 / Hourly
