About the role

Candidate must be able to read a tape measure, be reliable, and pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures
• Direct department personnel to ensure orders are produced in a timely fashion and adhere to safety and quality standards in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
• Must be able to work independently and collaborate with others to ensure production schedule and quality standards are met, and report issues to supervisor
• Operate and set up departmental equipment
• Perform various data collection functions in PeopleSoft (ERP)
• Maximize yield and reduce scrap
• Report department metrics
• Verify order information and produce part(s) with the correct material, density, weight, size, and/or shape within quality tolerance to meet customer specifications while meeting productivity standards

Requirements

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Machine operation or basic troubleshooting
• Experience working in multiple areas
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Light to moderate physical effort required including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders, grasping, fine and course manipulation, reaching both forward and above head level, and tolerant of temperature changes for the entire shift
• Must be able to push, pull and/or lift up to 50 pounds; and safely operate assigned machinery

Skills

• Must be fluent in the English language, both written and spoken
• Must be able to use simple math and use basic hand-held measuring tools
• Must be computer literate; Excel, Word, Outlook, ERP systems
