Specialist Engineer-Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) Technology
What You’ll Do
Lead the development and execution of MOV ceramic varistor disk design and manufacturing strategies that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with industry and quality standards.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement across the entire MOV manufacturing process, including batching, calcining, spray drying, pressing, firing, glazing, finishing, and testing.
Develop next-generation MOV formulations and designs that enhance product performance, manufacturability, and long-term reliability.
Provide technical leadership on critical process parameters to optimize yield, quality, and operational efficiency across all disk sizes.
Partner with Product Development, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver innovative electro-mechanical solutions for electrical power system applications.
Identify, evaluate, qualify, and implement new raw materials and supplier sources that support business growth, quality expectations, and cost competitiveness.
Analyze process and electrical performance data to make informed decisions that ensure product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Lead root cause investigations and corrective action initiatives to resolve complex manufacturing and product challenges.
Mentor and develop process engineers, helping build technical capability and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and engineering standards that support consistency, efficiency, and world-class product quality.
Prepare and communicate technical recommendations, project updates, and strategic insights to support business and operational objectives.
Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Ceramic or Materials Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Ceramic processing and/or product design of metal oxide varistors.

- Preferred Qualifications: Minimum eight (8) years of experience in Ceramic processing and/or product design of metal oxide varistors. Six-sigma trained. Experience working within quality management systems. Microsoft Word, Excel, Share Point, SPC Software.
