Job Title: Specialist, Cost Accounting Job Code: 46181 Job Location: Camden, AR or Melbourne, FL or Huntsville, AL or Remote Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description: L3Harris–Missile Propulsion (MP) is seeking a Specialist, Accounting to join the Program Cost Accounting function, reporting to the Associate Manager, Project Cost Accounting. This role has responsibility for various Program Cost Accounting functions of the divisions within the Segment, which primarily include project cost analysis, accounting for inventory, project costing adjustments and system monitoring among other responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, combined with a strong technical accounting background. Essential Functions: Performs project cost analysis, prepares cost metricsPrepares cost adjustments in Oracle for project-to-project transfers, intercompany billings, labor corrections and ad-hoc requestsResponsible for posting cost entries to general ledger accounts and for the preparation of complex account reconciliations and analysis including project inventory costsPerform daily analysis of cost transactions between Inventory and Projects subledgers within Oracle and work with IT on resolutions as requiredSupport the monthly Inventory module closing processPreparation of the quarterly income statement flux report, explaining in detail the quarterly changes in various line itemsPreparation of program-related monthly and quarterly Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) schedulesProactively identify opportunities for process improvementsPreparation of ad-hoc reporting and assistance with special projects, as requestedSupport audits (External Audit, Internal Audit, and SOX and Self Evaluation Testing)Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior cost accounting experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior cost accounting experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior cost accounting experience. Preferred Additional Skills: 2 years experience with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements2 years experience in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close in a fast-paced close process with multiple, often competing, deadlines2 years experience with facilitating internal and external auditsCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)Experience with ERP System (preferably Oracle)Experience with HFMProficient in Microsoft ExcelExceptional organizational skills, enabling monitoring of key due dates and activitiesFlexible planner in terms of daily activities with ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong customer service approach, self-directed, assertive, with a positive attitudeAbility to develop broad, cooperative relationships with numerous groups and individuals In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $73,000 – 135,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $63,500 – 117,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
