Specialist - Architecture

About the role

Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable high performance data platforms for real time and analytical workloads. The role focuses on streaming lake house and federated query architectures using Apache Flink, Apache Iceberg, and Starburst Trino in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate real time streaming pipelines using Apache Flink
• Design and manage lake house architectures with Apache Iceberg
• Enable federated analytics using Starburst Trino
• Develop and optimize ETL pipelines using Python, Scala, or Java
• Integrate data platforms with AWS, Azure, GCP services
• Tune performance across pipelines, tables, and queries
• Ensure data quality, governance, monitoring, and reliability
• Contribute to platform architecture and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• 7 years in data engineering and large-scale data platforms
• Strong hands-on experience with Flink, Iceberg, and Trino
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java and strong SQL skills
• Experience with cloud data services and distributed systems
• Knowledge of Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and data warehousing concepts

Qualifications

• Preferred: Financial services experience, Cloud certifications, Exposure to Delta Lake, Hudi, and Airflow
