Special Testing Operator - High Voltage

About the Role

Electrically test high voltage capacitors according to engineering specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Electrically test capacitors using LCR, IR, and LC meters
• Perform capacitor voltage testing, AC and DC
• Set up and perform pulse testing of capacitors
• Set up complex testing involving inverters and resonant frequency circuits
• Perform mechanical tests of capacitors for dimension accuracy
• Read and follow advanced test procedures including military standards
• Adhere to the highest standard of quality while continually performing at the highest level possible

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend oral and written instructions and other manufacturing documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers and co-workers
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and additional test-specific software
• Ability to read and understand test specifications
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; full body movement
• Constant alertness
• Routinely lift or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to convert between SAE, Metric measurements, and engineering prefixes (e.g., milli, micro(µ), etc.)
• High School diploma or GED

Work Environment

• Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and the potential of electrical shocks
• Occasionally exposed to exterior temperature conditions—heat in the summer, cold in the winter
• Regularly exposed to loud noise
