Electrical Specialist - High Voltage
Amentum is seeking an Electrical Specialist - High Voltage to join our team in McLean, Virginia.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role. Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, replace, install, adjust, maintain, and test all medium and low voltage utility systems, equipment, motors, MCC panels, generators, transformers, switchgears, substations, and distribution systems (15KV, 4160V, 480V, and 208V).
- Perform maintenance on industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry.
- Maintain and repair low voltage switchgear.
- Utilize electrical test equipment effectively.
- Adhere to current NEC regulations.
- Follow strict safety guidelines and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Participate in safety, quality, and procedure compliance initiatives as outlined by Amentum.
Work Environment
- Work may involve operating industrial machinery, power tools, and motor vehicles.
- Tasks may require walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility.
- Lifting over 50 pounds requires assistance from two or more persons.
- Work conditions may include rotational shifts (days, evenings, nights), overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Requirements
- Journeyman Electrician license.
- Eight years of experience in the electrical trade, focusing on maintenance and/or construction.
- Strong background in industrial and commercial electrical apparatus and control circuitry maintenance.
- Thorough familiarity with electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of current NEC regulations.
- Ability to write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Security Clearance (clearance decisions are controlled by the Government).
Qualifications
Minimum Education: High school diploma, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate, or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master Electrician license.
- NFPA-70E Training.
- OSHA 10 Training.
- CPR Training.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
Pay
$53.35 per hour. The compensation range or hourly rate listed is a good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
