Responsible to install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, conduits, wiring, and fixtures throughout campus. This position includes a $3,000 signing bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical preventive maintenance throughout campus (generator, battery backup for switches, electrical panels, etc.).
- Prioritize work orders for light maintenance including but not limited to electrical components and systems.
- Read electrical meters monthly throughout campus.
- Monitor and keep electrical vaults clean throughout campus.
- Perform work as required for electrical rough and finishes regarding campus projects.
- Assist other departments regarding moving of outlets, switches, and low voltage.
- Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures, including all safety requirements and guidelines.
- Utilize electronic time management system to input time, attendance, and paid time-off requests.
- Work successfully with limited supervision.
- Sustain reliable attendance at the worksite and adhere to assigned work schedule (this position is not remote nor offers telework).
- Assist with on-call rotation responsibilities with the Maintenance Department.
- Snow removal as required (may require weekends).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of vocational or technical school or employment with a commercial electrical company.
- Electrical journeyman license a plus.
- Five (5) years’ experience preferred in industrial/commercial electrical trade.
- Experience with small tools and introduction to maintenance duties or training with general electrical and mechanical maintenance in a commercial setting.
- Demonstrated ability with written and verbal communication skills to accurately follow instructions and work order requests.
- Proven work ethic and personal integrity to perform tasks to inspection standards.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines and quality standards.
- Demonstrated safety experience and ability to follow OSHA rules.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry in an electronic time management system.
- Valid driver’s license (position requires operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle for company use).
Skills
- Knowledge of Johnson building automation systems preferred.
