Special Projects Intern

About the Role

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Special Projects Intern to support Campus Recreation and university initiatives on the Davie campus.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions for students, faculty, staff, and the community by phone or in-person.
• Provide support to the front desk staff as needed.
• Report and communicate facility issues or concerns.
• Educate and enforce policies and procedures.
• Assist with various programs and events.
• Brainstorm ideas and provide feedback for programs and events.
• Report any program or event-related issues or concerns.
• Work with programs staff on other various tasks and projects.
• Identify budget for program supplies and staffing.
• Collaborate with facilities and operations staff on other tasks and projects as needed.
• Assist the Marketing Team with tabling efforts as needed.
• Brainstorm ideas for engaging content with the Marketing Team for all social media platforms.
• Collaborate with other departments within Campus Recreation and the university to promote events.

Requirements

• Degree-seeking graduate student with a minimum of five credit hours (or nine if international) and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

CPR/AED and First Aid Certification are preferred.

Pay

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday - Sunday, approximately 20 hours per week with early mornings, late nights, and weekends.

Location

Boca Raton, with responsibilities on the Davie campus.

Final candidate will be required to provide official, sealed transcripts and, if applicable, a NACES evaluation prior to employment. Selected candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screenings, which may include criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, credit checks, reference checks, and drug/alcohol screening.
