About the role

To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs in both general and special education settings.
  • Support the licensed teacher in creating and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students.

Requirements

Essential qualifications include:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Completion of a state-approved paraprofessional training program.
  • Passing scores on the ESSA proficiency tests in reading, writing, and math.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
