Special Programs Analyst
About the role
The Analyst III serves as Special Programs Manager for the California Civic Media Program, a statewide initiative to strengthen local journalism across California, and other programs and initiatives as assigned. Under the supervision of the Assistant Deputy Director for External Affairs and Operations, the incumbent is primarily responsible for leading the day-to-day implementation of the Civic Media Program, which includes providing strategic direction to staff and contracted administrators while ensuring adherence to program timelines and commitments with a high-level of independence. The incumbent also serves as the primary liaison to the journalism community for GO-Biz and coordinates the activities of the program's advisory board. Additionally, the position leads and supports other internal and external programs or projects as assigned.
Working conditions
Hybrid: this position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule and requires reporting in-person at headquarters in Sacramento. As a result of the Governor's executive order, GO-Biz employees may be required to come into the office in Sacramento at least four times a week, projected to be effective July 1, 2026.
Pay
- $6,623.00 - $8,290.00 monthly (Analyst III classification)
- New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable

Requirements
- Unless you have transfer or reinstatement eligibility, you must take the Analyst III exam to obtain eligibility for this position
- If using education as your basis of meeting the minimum qualifications, you must provide school transcripts (diplomas are not accepted in lieu of transcripts)
