About the role
The Special Procedures X-ray Tech will be working in Interventional Radiology under the direction of the IR Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all IR activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
- Ensures the quality of services rendered is acceptable.
- Confirms orders, documents, medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all IR orders.
- Affixes with/performing variety of radiology diagnostic examinations to include fluoroscopy, interventional procedures under image guidance, facilitating inpatient and outpatient consultation and post procedural follow-up.
- Provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.
- Operates IR and CT equipment to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed.
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a current license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in West Virginia. Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital setting. Must have knowledge of radiation safety and protection. Must have excellent communication skills.
