About the role
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is seeking a RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of our community.
Responsibilities
- Receives requests from physicians for special radiographic procedures.
- Determines equipment requirements based on physician's tentative diagnosis and scouts necessary films for preliminary viewing.
- Tests special equipment such as contrast media injectors, program selectors, and film changers for proper functioning.
- Loads film changers and cine cameras, ensuring correct sequencing and film transport.
- Sets program selectors according to protocols and independently adjusts settings to achieve desired examination results.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience as a Certified Radiologic Technologist under the direction of a radiologist.
- A Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy permit issued by the California State Department of Public Health (CSDPH).
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (desirable).
- Physical Class 3 - Moderate: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, lifting up to 25 pounds, and frequently lifting up to 10-25 pounds.
Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must submit a completed application and satisfy the following requirements:
- Current and active Radiologic Technologist certification or a temporary permit to practice Radiologic Technology.
- Experience performing radiographic procedures using X-ray to diagnose pathological and traumatic disorders.
- Additional experience and training may be considered favorably.
Desirable Qualifications
- Additional experience beyond the selection requirements.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Specialty requirements may be considered favorably.
Benefits
Due to a critical shortage, new and current employees will be granted a temporary bonus placing them at step 8 ($109,538.16) of the salary range until June 30, 2027, or until the shortage is resolved, whichever comes first.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $93,000 - $125,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Available shifts may require working evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
