Special Procedures X-ray Tech

About the role

The Special Procedures X-ray Tech will be working in Interventional Radiology under the direction of the IR Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all IR activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
• Ensures the quality of services rendered is acceptable.
• Confirms orders, documents, medical necessity, and pre-authorization on all IR orders.
• Affixes with/performing variety of radiology diagnostic examinations to include fluoroscopy, interventional procedures under image guidance, facilitating inpatient and outpatient consultation and post procedural follow-up.
• Provides radiologic care to patients for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.
• Operates IR and CT equipment to perform clinical diagnostic procedures as directed.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have completed a recognized radiologic technology program and be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Qualifications

Must have a valid West Virginia license to practice radiologic technology.

Skills

Must have excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
